I look around myself. I am now in a large villa area with around 80 big houses scattered on the natural slopes. I am here with a lady together with her two-year-old daughter. Also with us are a translator and a realtor agent who is one of my friends, Tang.
Her husband has just been transferred here in China from Korea and they urgently need to find a nice home here. It will be their last change to find a good one for them, the couple with two children for the next two years. It takes around 20 minutes to drive out of Grand Hyatt Hotel to get here. During the drive, I politely asked questions about the little girl. She is going to be 2 year this Sunday and the mom is hoping to find Wendy's House ( a toy, of course) as a birthday present.Apparently they must live a quite good life, for she carried a prada hangbag and well dressed. In these foreigh joint ventures, the salary those foreign employees make a month( around 15,000 average) gurantee their very good and easy life in China or other asian countries. The company is also responsible for their accomadation but surely there is a budget.
This couple is trying to find a villa; even for me it's my first time to help my friend working with translation, I do know they must be alittle picky because Tang told me they had already checked around 14 houses. Today will be the last day, but who knows?
The girl is really adorable, blue eyes, blonde curls; just seconds later we become very familiar and she keep giggling with me. I am very good at children, a genius maybe. During the next two and half hours she liked to hold my hands and play with me. She is really a little angel.
Our car stopped at the first house, around 390 sm2, once the model house in the area. So it is quite nicely renovated. But to me this style is not my taste, a little foolish European; not the simplicity I prefer, but I do understand it's a home for a family; it could be a little too cold and not so homely. We took the stairs to check all the rooms upstairs. The mom was a little worried about the stair because these were big holes between two bars. Children can easily drop out. Out in the yard ,these is a swimming pool, around 3*4 sm2. Not big, but a private one, that's really cool. Same concern came to the mom. She asked about the possiblity of closing the pool in the winter or building fences around for the babies' sake.
We continued to see two others, however, the hostess was not so interested because both of them havn't been furbishes and renovated at all. She and her family wouldn't wait for three or even four months till they can move in. Looking around, the whole area is very quiet and green and tidy and clean. One of the top villas here; however they seem to be very close to each other, like 4-5 metres away from each other. I am not sure where villas in other countries are the same case, but you don't have very private life. Anyway I can't afford to live here?
We left and got to another villa; I like this very much, opposite a community club and tennis court, it has two garages, very well decorated with satellite tv. The host was very pround of the constructiong material and decornation style all American standard. Excuse me American Standard! Isn't that the brand for flush toilet? I like the house very much.
Oh the new riches of China. Tang told me many of these landlord make a fortune by doing the international trade a couple of years ago. Also some of them became millionaires by doing the stock exchange and property investments.
Really as the commercial goes, you have to accept life is never fair!
